USL Playground

This is a conceptual masterplan for a playground for special-needs children in Rayong, Thailand. The intervention area is a 32 sqm open space beside a community education center.
The design considered international and local guidelines for designing for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and integrated elements such as enclosure, ease of navigation, sensory and spatial order, and capacity- building play. The playground includes sensory play areas, a large play & retreat structure, cocoon swings, shaded areas, clear paths, and soft surfaces. The playground provides space for play and exploration but also opportunities for social interaction, sensory engagement, and skill-building for children with ASD.

The site masterplan in detail.

The playground was built in Raying, Thailand in November 2022.
