Sinking Democracies.
A submerged statue of liberty embodies the repercussions of passivity regarding the climate issue, particularly for Americans. It signifies the urgent need for action before reaching irreversible consequences. It is a reminder that while there is still time, the window for action is narrowing, urging us to act swiftly and decisively.
Atlas Shrugs.
In Greek mythology, Atlas, the titan, bears the weight of the Earth on his shoulders, a consequence of Zeus's punishment. The artwork presents a sculpture depicting Atlas in a human-like form, supporting the melting Earth. It symbolises the immense responsibility we carry as it crumbles, emphasising that it is up to us to uphold it. Commencing with the Paris agreement could be a promising step forward.
